Why did you choose to come back to Longbridge?

There are several reasons why I came back to Longbridge, in short, it was because of the team, leadership and their ambition.

The long answer…

Before Longbridge merged with Poolia Finance and Accountancy to create their Longbridge Finance & Accounting arm, I worked with Tim Hedger (Managing Director of Longbridge) and a lot of the existing team whilst at Poolia.

I left Poolia before the merger because of a serious back condition and I was gutted. Tim and the rest of the team had given me support throughout my troubles and I can honestly say I made friends not work colleagues and the same caring environment has been carried over to the Longbridge name.

Since leaving we stayed in touch and I got to know the ‘rest’ of the Longbridge team and every Consultant is passionate about the brand, dedicated to delivering a high quality service and is committed to the shared goal at Longbridge.

One mantra I’ve always had is to choose a boss, not a job. The leadership at Longbridge is amazing and it runs throughout the whole business but I’d like to give a special mention to Darren Carroll and Tim Hedger.

They are both extremely experienced and knowledgeable professionals but more importantly, they believe in; transparency, empowerment to all, training, career development and reward & recognition.

Oh and did I mention their great commission scheme, clothing allowance and all expenses paid trips?

It was a no brainer!

 

Can you give us a quick idea of what you were doing before joining Longbridge?

I’ve spent the past 5 years attracting, engaging and retaining top talent for both small and FTSE 100 organisations. I have been able to share key insights through recruitment strategies, public speaking and workshops.

Having a varied career I’ve worked with some great clients, such as; Thomson Reuters, FT.com, EON, Channel 4 and more. I’ve covered different spaces such as Finance, Marketing and Sales and I have also built and managed different sized recruitment teams.

I also run a successful talent management blog that explores key topics such as: Employer branding, employee engagement and recruitment. Subscribers range from Recruitment Co-ordinators to Head of Talent Management from the likes of: Monster, Sky and Expedia.

 

What will you be doing at Longbridge?

As the Talent Acquisition Manager, I’ll be setting up the internal function to help Longbridge’s continued success by handpicking the best talent to join the team. This will include a mixture of Recruitment Managers, Senior Consultants and people who want to start a rewarding career in recruitment.

As well as hiring and shaping the team at Longbridge, I will be helping build an academy that will be designed to give beginners the tools, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in recruitment….watch this space!
